Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who are actively practicing in Connecticut and seeking to renew their licenses after January 1, 2022, must, as a recurring requirement every six years, undertake a total of two contact hours of training or education. This education should encompass two specific areas: (1) screening for conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, risk of suicide, depression, and grief; and (2) training in suicide prevention. To clarify, a single contact hour constitutes a minimum of 50 minutes of instruction.
